Bliss

Will you be content with being happy for a short while with no peace? Or would you rather go through life's violent storms with peace in your heart?

Have you met a person that just glows without make up? I have.

More than all the Pradas and the Guccis in the world, shopaholic as I am, I wanted what she have.

That's when the light bulb lit.

She had Peace.

It is a core component of being able to love others as ourselves.

Which is more important? Happiness or peace? Sometimes we can have both, but when we don't, what gives? Surely we can be happy. But that doesn't mean we have peace.

Happiness is a temporary emotion. It's something we feel. It's something we choose to have.

Having peace is priceless.  It can never be bought, nor is it a whimsical feeling that comes and goes. It is not just 'something' we choose to do.

The peace that surpasses all understanding is a grace. A gift that comes only from God.

But is peace something to pursue? Of course! It is not automatically felt. We don't just pray for it. We seek it!

To achieve that peace, it starts with seeking God. (Matt 6:33). Understanding that His ways are not ours. Choosing the less traveled road... Suffering a little to reap that reward.

Then testify that peace!  We don't have to preach or be in a pulpit. Live by example. Actions are louder than words. The kind of peace that glows within and is felt by others around us is in itself a testimony of that wonderful grace.
